It would be rather contemptuous to say that such a God is psychopathic and enjoys abusing his creation.

This is the point where the logical fallacies of religion unravel one after another.

Let me direct you to a comment I made somewhere else just recently, but which fits in here, I find. I defend religion in a particular sense and I think it does not deserve what one usually says in a negative way about religion and its provided order.
