Most doctors won't even attempt it.
I hear that a lot. And also stories from women giving birth despite having had a c-section, yes.
Here in Germany, it's very hard to find a birth-house or midwives coming to your home and helping you with giving birth in your own space. The insurance was raised to such a great amount that the midwives cannot afford doing their jobs outside of institutions. And that's what they aren't supposed to do. Even though it was anyway just two percent of the birth giving women outside hospitals, before they raised the fees. That's why I think that the independent midwives will face extinction. It's a shame. There will be brave women who will give birth without anyone, though. It's risky but not impossible. In my beginner years on steemit I wrote extensively about the topic. If you like, I'll dig it out for you.
