Hello from a stranger,
your comment was very interesting to read. I read it fully and it left me thinking. One sentence stuck out because I was having this as a topic in my mind and during conversations which come up regularly:
nothing they do makes sense
That is what is so irritating. One is looking for a meaning that is not there. The search for meaning is fruitless and that is why it is so frustrating. I think the whole thing can be described as a juggernaut. The beginnings are in the dark, but the juggernaut progresses without understanding. I got married last year and they wanted my original birth certificate. I had already been married and divorced once. I asked: Why? Why a birth certificate that I never had in the original, where should this certificate come from now? How was it possible to get married without this certificate the first time? It no longer exists where I come from.
There is no sensible reason and therefore people don't know any reason. Asking about it is idle, because in the administration they just follow the latest regulations, which "just changed".
But irrationally, I eventually got married, so how could that happen without the required certificate? The answer is that you don't really need this document. The folly of bureaucracy is that there is no punch line. Apparently, the juggernaut is such that it always casts doubt on any document that identifies you as you, and that an identity document that is considered forgery-proof is never enough to get married, for example, although it seems to be enough if you want to cross the border. But it is always not enough to identify oneself without any doubt when the eye of the juggernaut falls on one personally because one wants something from it. So one can probably assume that whenever the eye is on you, scrutinising, doubting, you need more than one document to prove that you are who you say you are.
The only way out of this madness seems to be that one does not accept the name attributed to one on one's birth certificate as one's own. How far back in the line of my ancestors would I have to go to find out from when people were given first and last names? The designations used to be occupational or dependent on the activity one was doing, didn't they? Names like Miller and Smith bear witness to this.
How can you not want anything more from the Juggernaut? This is a significant question, the answer to which is probably frightening because it shows you how unfree one is.
Greetings to you.
