Here, a picture of a night when vampires are welcomed by the ladies. :)

It is such a shame that awesome posts like yours get lost in the blockchain ether. They're difficult to recover and enjoy in the proper context. As a fan and creator, you give a unique perspective that enriches and enhances the genre. The blockchain should make it easy to re-discover these gems. It needs a time machine.

I've already talked about this with a few people who think they understand (with a fair degree of certainty) that the republishing of older blog posts is more likely to go unnoticed, or you might not approve. This is unfortunate, considering the fact that the search on the Hive.Blog works very badly and you don't get direct hits even with the keywords you know yourself. So every time I want to pass on an old treasure to someone, as I did here, I first have to painstakingly scroll through my entire blog history to find and copy it. I'm thinking of re-blogging the whole thing with a new image edition and some additions, since the readership changed in the meantime, old ones go, new ones come. Not only do people not look for older posts, they don't even look for them beyond the 7 days. I try to brake this habit on my own, I am guilty of it myself. Strangely enough, when I did it on rare occasions, I sometimes even didn't get a reaction from the blogger him- or herself.

You're right that vampire stories are not really pure horror. Soft horror, perhaps? Or maybe suspense? Vampire stories are more like an anthropological romp through the socio-sexual behavior of these alluring creatures. Vampires tend to be male, so I can see how as a female, you find them seductive. As a male, I see the vampire as a nuissance that must be dealt with by any means. In other words, I think more like Johnny. Angry Johnny.

HaHa! :D That amuses me, of course. In fact, you're right, there are few female vampires for the male epicure to succumb to as much as the other way around. But of course, away from the genres, there is plenty more for the male eye to find, I would even say in abundance ;-) I think that might appease Angry Johnny.
