Just the other day, I drew a "sequel" to one of my portrait drawings from the last couple of days. I found out that my reference pictures were part of a series of birthday photo shoots. They overall have a very fun and endearing energy to each photograph, prompting me to draw two of them.
Today, I took another one from the photo series (which can be found here) and drew it to create the final part. I'm now calling these three a muffin trilogy, LMAO.
Drawing Ooh, Muffin
I played around with one of the pictures for this drawing. I drew a muffin (like I did in the previous two) in place of birthday candles as it was in the reference photo. The fingers holding onto the muffin were literally mine — I took my own photo.
I liked how the model was looking longingly (or was that excitedly?) toward the birthday candles in the reference photo. I thought it would be perfect if she was staring longingly to a food instead. The muffin would be perfect.
Her expression was very difficult to draw, though! I had a tough time, almost dropping the whole thing midway through. The only stopping me was the effort and time I already put to this, which I always value. It's either make or break, so I have to wing it somehow.
Another thing that made this difficult to draw was the brush size limit in MediBang. I worked on 4000 px width for all three, and compared to the other two, this portrait required even larger brush sizes. I couldn't increase the brush size any further, though, so you can see visible uneven strokes on her skin here and there.
The reference photo had the model blurred into the background with focus on the birthday candles. Here, I wanted to blur the muffin instead, and make put the focus on the model. At this point, the Gaussian blur functionality of MediBang was fully utilized.
Earlier, I did say I felt bad about the effort and time I put into drawing this. Haha. And blurring a major part of it kind of devastated me. So above is a non-blurred version of the drawing. I actually really, really enjoyed drawing the muffin in the last two muffin-related portraits, and in this piece, it wasn't any different.
The Muffin Trilogy
And this concludes the accidental trilogy of portrait drawings. It had honestly been very fun! I also got to practice with these three, and be a little more confident drawing things. Also, the colors always scream fun energy, and it resonated to me personally. :)

Notes
Today, I cut my finger while preparing food in the kitchen. It was the first time I injured myself in a while, and the blood made me panic so bad (I have fear of blood) I honestly thought I would faint. Drawing this took my attention away from the small wound, and looking back a few hours later, I realize I was just being a drama queen. Hahahaha! It doesn't even hurt now.
Anyway, I would love to hear your thoughts about this drawing, and the accidental "muffin trilogy" in general!
