Cuando empecé a jugar Tibia mi vocación era Knight pero, me aburría mucho peleando en el mismo sitio sin moverme tan solo llevar golpes y aguantar, era traumático para mí jugar en team y si alguien moría me echaban la culpa a mí por no excetear a los enemigos y que los mismos compañeros no entiendan que así como sus vocaciones tenemos un Coldown, es decir un tiempo en el que se habilita un spell.
Probé con el Paladín y como ya tenía experiencia en otros juegos, fue más divertido hacer hit and run, además en team o matando bosses, pase lo que pase, jamás le echarán la culpa al paladín ¡Jajaja!
Bien mi titulo dice "game crash" me ha pasado varias veces, y no solo a mí sino a gente conocida, mis hijos y mi ex, en la que si la computadora se apaga con el juego corriendo, es posible que los archivos del juego se vuelvan corruptos, se dañe el juego y tengas que reinstalar de nuevo.

When I started playing Tibia, my class was Knight, but I got really bored fighting in the same spot without moving, just taking hits and holding out. It was traumatic for me to play in a team, and if anyone died, they’d blame me for not taking out the enemies, and my teammates didn’t understand that, just like their classes, we have a cooldown – that is, a time it takes for a spell to become available again.
I gave the Paladin a go and, as I already had experience from other games, it was more fun to do hit-and-run tactics. Plus, whether in a team or killing bosses, whatever happens, they’ll never blame the Paladin! Hahaha!
Right, my title says ‘game crash’ – it’s happened to me several times, and not just to me but to people I know, my children and my ex. If the computer shuts down whilst the game is running, the game files might become corrupted, the game might be damaged, and you’ll have to reinstall it.

Como esto ha pasado en anteriores veces, aprendimos a respaldar los archivos de personalización de las vocaciones, específicamente la carpeta "Characterdata", hacemos una copia de la carpeta y se guarda a fuera, de manera que si se dañan los archivos tienes el respaldo de lo más importante. Gracias a esto tenía y digo tenía, screenshots desde que comencé a jugar hace más de cinco años, recuerdos de partidas con mis hijos y mi ex, cuyos personajes ya no existen. Se pudo corromper muchas veces los archivos de Tibia pero no la carpeta "screenshots" hoy nada de eso existe, se volvió corrupto de tal manera que todo se borró inexplicablemente y todo el juego quedó tan dañado que tuve que desinstalar e instalarlo nuevamente.
Me sentía confiada, bueno... tengo mi archivo de respaldo que me ha salvado tantas veces pero... esta vez no funcionó. debí actualizar los archivos porque desde entonces, Tibia se ha actualizado muchísimo y los archivos ya no eran compaltibles.
Volver a personalizar mis personajes y vocaciones no es tan sesillo y menos ahora.
Cada persona tiene un estilo único de jugada y todos personalizamos de formas diferentes que se nos hace más cómoda con lo que tenemos disponible, así que no sirve copiarse del estilo de otro porque ni siquiera usa las mismas herramientas, ni su jugabilidad es la misma, ni usa los mismos spells. No tener si quiera un screenshot de mi modo juego me dieron ganas de llorar porque ni recuerdo, para algunas cosas tengo memoria pero son miles de formas, miles de cosas por personalizar... es un caos.

As this has happened before, we’ve learnt to back up the character customisation files – specifically the ‘Characterdata’ folder – by making a copy of the folder and saving it elsewhere, so that if the files get corrupted, you have a backup of the most important bits. Thanks to this, I had – and I say ‘had’ – screenshots dating back to when I started playing over five years ago: memories of games with my children and my ex, whose characters no longer exist. The Tibia files had become corrupted many times before, but not the ‘screenshots’ folder; today, none of that exists. It became so corrupted that everything was inexplicably deleted, and the whole game was so badly damaged that I had to uninstall and reinstall it.
I felt confident – well… I have my backup file that’s saved me so many times, but… this time it didn’t work. I should have updated the files because, since then, Tibia has been updated so much that the files were no longer compatible.
Customising my characters and vocations all over again isn’t exactly a walk in the park, especially now.
Everyone has their own unique playstyle, and we all customise our characters in different ways to suit what we have available, so there’s no point in copying someone else’s style because they don’t even use the same tools, their gameplay isn’t the same, and they don’t use the same spells. Not even having a screenshot of my playstyle made me want to cry because I can’t even remember; I do have a memory for some things, but there are thousands of ways, thousands of things to customise… it’s chaos.

Si al menos, hubiera guardado un respaldo aquí en Hive me hubiera facilitado mucho recuperar mi jugabilidad. Lo que sucede es que muchos nos cuidamos de mostrar esto para que no vean lo que llevamos puesto o la forma en la que jugamos, no sé un sistema de protegerse.
Luego que lo volví a personalizar me sobraron demasiados espacios, donde faltan muchas cosas que tristemente no recuerdo.
Y es que ahora se integraron tantas cosas nuevas en Tibia y todas muy buenas que puede ser complicado para alguien que ha abandonado el juego por un año, todo está diferente, pienso que más cómodo, de todas maneras, siempre está la opción de jugar modo "arcade" yo personalizo mi jugabilidad de acuerdo al enfrentamiento con bosses y criaturas de mucho daño, agregando keys multiacción, usando todo mi teclado numérico y alfanumérico para ejecutar cada acción, habilidades pasivas, objetos, pues de acuerdo a lo que enfrentas te montas y desmontas armaduras, armas durante una batalla.
Bueno de todo de aprende, lo que más me duele fue perder mis archivos de screenshot, habían muchos recuerdos allí. Ahora sé que periódicamente es recomendable actualizar los archivos de la carpeta de respaldo. Sobre todo si Tibia ha tenido demasiadas actualizaciones.

If only I’d saved a backup here on Hive, it would have made it much easier for me to get my gameplay back. The thing is, a lot of us are careful not to show this so that people can’t see what we’re wearing or how we play – I don’t know, it’s a way of protecting ourselves.
After I customised it again, I ended up with far too many empty slots, where there are loads of things missing that, sadly, I can’t remember.
The thing is, so many new features have been added to Tibia now – and they’re all brilliant – that it can be tricky for someone who’s been away from the game for a year; everything’s different – I think it’s more user-friendly, though. In any case, there’s always the option to play in ‘arcade’ mode. I customise my gameplay depending on battles against bosses and high-damage creatures, adding multi-action keys and using my entire numeric and alphanumeric keypad to execute each action, passive skills and items; depending on what you’re facing, you equip and unequip armour and weapons during a battle.
Well, you learn from everything; what hurt the most was losing my screenshot files – there were so many memories in there. Now I know it’s a good idea to update the files in the backup folder regularly. Especially if Tibia has had too many updates.
