You may or may not have seen the introduction post for @blockbrothers. I hope that you did, but if not, follow the yellow brick road and check it out.

The client

The client this time is a special one. For one, there are actually 4 clients, all 4 members of @blockbrothers. Second, one of them is me. I am part of my own client. That's fun. But, since I am always my own biggest critic, nothing new there. Last, the other 3 are comprised of two very good friends ( @exyle and @bennierex )and my brother ( @s3rg3 ). Which actually made this easy. I would have just strong armed them into liking the logo if they didn't. Good thing for everyone I suppose that I didn't have to haha.

The Brief

As you might have read by now in the intro post, we are 4 guys, enthusiastic about blockchain technology in general and steemit in particular. So we formed a group under which we would post our progress, ideas and whatnot. So we needed a logo.
Something that had something to do with 4 guys and blockchain.

The Concept

The process of developing a logo and coming up with a winning design is always different. In this case, the vision was clear, so there weren't a lot of sketches leading up to the final design to be honest. But it's nice when the vision is clear and you dont have to do many iterations.

For this particular logo though, there being the 4 of us involved, it did start off start a little bit unusual with this fridaynight beer induced sketch by @exyle. He's a great guy, with fantastic BBQ skills and great knowledge of crypto (and the one that got us on steemit), but his design skills leave somewhat to be desired. Nevertheless, it's a great start in that there were 4 guys and there was some block(y) stuff going on. There was another sketch, before this one, but it would make this post NSFW so I think I'll pass on showing that to you guys 🙈

This was my first initial sketch / idea. Blocks, representing each one of use. It actually made it to a digital design, but in my opinion, it was too flat, and felt like an easy way out.

It also didn't help that the first reaction of my partners in crime when I asked them what they saw was a mix of Earth and A dog.

The 2 of the previous ones did make me reconsider my starting ground and I ended up with this sketch. It made perfect sense. It depicts blocks that together form a chain of 4 guys. The sketch is rough though and black and white.

The Final Design

Therefore, here is the final design, where I added a colorscheme per persona made of blocks. I also 'simplified' the logo by not depicting each individual block edge. The colors depict the colorful nature of our band of merry brothers in arms. Just for your reference, the orangy one represents @bennierex, the blue one is me, the teal one @exyle and the green one is @s3rg3
