Dagbladet posted and article today discussing the importance of checking yourself to prevent cancer (the article focus on cervical cancer) "http://www.dagbladet.no/kjendis/hadde-jeg-ikke-sjekket-meg-hadde-det-ikke-blitt-oppdaget-og-jeg-hadde-fatt-kreft/68500895". The article states that over 34 000 women in Norway HAVE tested themselves after a campaign called "Test yourself". Thea Steen was the drive force for the campaign. Thea Steen´s work, and openness about her own sickness on her blog (link in the article) has inspired many to take that extra precaution, and it has saved lives. She died of cervical cancer one year ago, at the age of 26. Her work will continue to save lives in the years to come. Cancer is something that has affected, or will affect everyone, either directly or indirectly.
This is one of the most important articles I have seen in a while. Cancer has also affected my family and friends. I hope the article and Thea´s story, will persuade more women (and men) to take this precaution. It will save lives.
