Once upon a time there was a little girl named Lisa Launders. The press and the media referred to her as "Lisa Steinberg." A then-attorney named Joel Steinberg and his live-in girlfriend, Hedda Nussbaum, had illegally adopted her when she was a baby.
When Lisa was 6 years old, Mr. Steinberg brutally murdered her back in 1987. He was eventually tried and convicted in a New York court of law for his heinous crimes against her. However, he only served a modest amount of time in prison, and he was paroled much sooner than he should have been. That is, he shouldn't have been paroled at all. He should have received the death penalty for what he did.
His life outside of prison afterwards was no walk in the park. It took him two years to secure an apartment in Harlem. He suffered constant social isolation and financial difficulties. His neighbors should have been warned to keep their kids away from him. What is so bewildering is that a YouTuber who has a channel named True Crime Lovers claims that he died in 2025. How does this make any sense? I've searched high and low on the Internet to find even one article or social-media posting that states that Mr. Steinberg is currently deceased, and I have come up bone dry. Even the Wikipedia website claims that he recently celebrated his 85th birthday. So, where is this YouTuber getting her information from?

Does Mr. Steinberg have a conscience? How could he? He doesn't even have a soul. He's pure evil, and he knows it.
An article from the New York Post exposes how Mr. Steinberg's life was hardly a bowl of cherries after his release from prison. This man made his own bed, and now he has to sleep in it. That is, unless he's dead.
There's an old Spanish proverb that says that "bad weeds never die." In Spanish, it reads as "las hierbas malas nunca mueren." I strongly believe that proverb. Therefore, it is possible that the YouTuber above who claimed that Mr. Steinberg was dead did so only to make her video more interesting than it would have been if she hadn't thrown that one piece of information or possibly misinformation into the mix.
Is Joel Steinberg really dead? We could only hope. Then again, we shouldn't get our hopes up too high. The Grim Reaper is seldom ever that generous. He usually likes to take good people away from us instead of the scum of society.
A sick puppy like Mr. Steinberg will make speaking ill of the dead an excepted societal standard if it is really true. If there is such a thing as Satan, a sick psychopath like Mr. Steinberg will make even the devil himself cringe with disgust. Unfortunately, his kind are not that easy to be rid of. It's something that doesn't happen often enough. It's kind of like when you get the happy news as a teenager that the school bully has overdosed on heroin and has croaked.

I'm glad that the late Lisa Launder's biological mother, Michelle Launders, ultimately won her wrongful death lawsuit against Mr. Steinberg, although I really wish that someone could have rescued the little girl before Mr. Steinberg murdered her. It's a sad, sick world that we live in, and it only gets worse every year. The little girl would have been in her forties by now if Mr. Steinberg hadn't murdered her as he did.
