Your story caught my attention. I read it twice to get a better idea of what was going on. The first time I read it, I read quickly and got a vague picture in my mind of where Ekereobong might have been: the light level seems low, dim, shadowy. There are a lot of objects or nooks where he is, like a room with a lot of furniture or a closed retail shop. That's what got me first. The second time through I got more of a sense of how Ekereobong was feeling at this moment: heart beating fast and loud in his ears, yet also straining to hear any sounds of the assailant in the surrounding area (maybe a whole group of assailants??)
Anyway, that's just what I got from your story piece. Great read! Thanks for sharing and getting my imagination turning :)
