Good morning @avdesing, you wrote recently about grief, and today you’re writing about a friend who’s going through a tough time. Your post reminded me of an interview with a (fairly well-known) psychotherapist who mentioned the case of a professional who, due to illness, would never be able to practice his profession again—which was also his lifelong dream. So this psychotherapist told him (more or less): “No one can take away the years you spent in your profession; you’ve been fortunate in a way others weren’t—you got to fulfill your dream.”
Grief is often very painful… Being grateful for what you’ve experienced is a step forward, and I think that’s what you’ve suggested—with great strength—to this person you care about. Thank you for sharing such a personal reflection.
A big hug.
