Hey, the title even rhymes, so you knew you had to at least read this first part. That picture is important, we'll get to it in a few minutes. But first, I wanted to welcome you here if you've never been before. I also offer a warning, I don't adhere to social norms and am the reason Elon smokes weed and cusses like a sailor.

I was told to copyright it all, but failed to do so. HA! Either way, you now know what you are in for and those that are keen to my words from following me after all these years (or months or weeks or what have you), welcome back!

You'll notice I haven't been posting very much lately. In fact, I think this is only the 3rd original post I've put out and we're over a month into 2025. Is that sad? Or is it reflective of how things feel around here?

Note the photograph.

The reflection.

The ice.

It's as if, things are frozen.

I even was for a moment.

And, for a brief period of time today, things were. Hive-Engine was suffering some kind of attack to exploit its sluggishness. That's all I'm going to say as it seems most things are under repair and any crisis will be averted.

But still.

This isn't the first time something went after aggroed@aggroed's little exchange over there. Which, is scary. I don't know about you, but it has woken me up a little bit to other possible scenarios I don't want to think about and so over the coming days, I will be heavily rearranging my Hive portfolio. I would suggest you do the same.

2024

This will be a short review of things that I think were significant that happened with Hive in 2024. And there you have it. Short and sweet.

2025

Moving forward, I will be (trying to anyway) taking more of a guidance role and sitting shotgun versus driving everywhere myself. I have come to respect and hold people in high regard after watching for years, like themarkymark@themarkymark. Others, I have lost respect for due to their lack of communication or hypocrisy.

My personal goals are to strengthen my own witness position(s) (enginewitty@enginewitty and pollenation@pollenation), continue incubating younger communities/initiatives/projects and, diligently supporting the outstanding ones. I do this with various outlets like thealliance@thealliance and the PIMP token (that has itself, turned into an amazing community-driven beast).

It should be noted, that I do have several people proxied to me and will update you now, on the witnesses I am voting for and why. They have changed somewhat, but you know me, I am trying to do what is best for Hive itself and feel these ones are closest to the same lines I try to stay between.

arcange@arcange - love his attitude and willingness to step up to the plate + HiveSQL
gtg@gtg - old school mofo, #respect
good-karma@good-karma - the advances with ecency@ecency have been very impressive
guiltyparties@guiltyparties - I think value plan has been one of the best things to go through the DHF
themarkymark@themarkymark - as stated before, love him or hate him, he backs his facts with facts
actifit@actifit - still going (strong?), one of the longest running apps that nurtures exercise
someguy123@someguy123 - personal reasons and has never turned a deaf ear to anything I've asked of him
techcoderx@techcoderx - VSC? Good cat too, always answers my questions or concerns
timcliff@timcliff - another old school cat, one of the nicest fellas you'll ever know
pizza.witness@pizza.witness - this may have changed hands, but hivetrending@hivetrending's nose is never high in the air
ura-soul@ura-soul - developments on and off Hive and has a great sense of humor
disregardfiat@disregardfiat - integral cog in DLUX, SPK and the original HashKings (the one I liked)
detlev.witness@detlev.witness - not many things I like more than beer
c0ff33a@c0ff33a - outstanding person and gets little credit for his contribution(s)
qurator@qurator - long-time curation crew that has stood through the crytpo-winter(s) with us
brofund@brofund - raymondspeaks@raymondspeaks has created quite the community that I admire
thebbhproject@thebbhproject - fairly new to my list, I aim to keep an eye on bradleyarrow@bradleyarrow
apshamilton@apshamilton - legally speaking, I mean
hispapro@hispapro - very try-hard curators for the Latino communities out here
hiq.witness@hiq.witness - magazines, games, all the things
klye@klye - when it's time to get twisted, he's the go to
enginewitty@enginewitty - if I don't have faith in myself then
pollenation@pollenation - who should I have faith in
keys-defender@keys-defender - exactly that
atexoras.witness@atexoras.witness - I like forykw@forykw and his approach to finance
whiterosecoffee@whiterosecoffee - c0ff33a@c0ff33a's backup
tazi@tazi - the only witness I know (besides myself) that fully represents the #sivergoldstakker clan
synergy.witness@synergy.witness - ecoinstant@ecoinstant recently up and we'll be paying attention to 'crazy management'
crypto-shots@crypto-shots - I think this game has the most potential of any currently playable games on Hive
#30 - ????

Any questions? Just ask. I am (and coined the term) a social witness. Which, I think there should be a few more of and some ranked higher to give the real Hive community an actual voice. Here nor there. I'll talk to to anyone and love getting out and about. It gets rough being the daddy but hey, somebody has to do it. And, before I leave, REMEMBER TO BE YOU! I always am, are you?
