It's called Love Joy Falls for a reason. I know that now. It's probably one of the best kept secrets, I never knew about, in my area. We discovered this spot through Hipcamp. Anyone else use that site/app? Obvious from the name, we went camping there.
The past weekend and then some, was spent near this secluded masterpiece of nature. The falls itself, has only about a ten foot drop, but the time we chose to go, had some other elements forcing it to dash the rocks below with immense power.
We had a flash flood warning for the better half of two days, pushing itself into our outing. And shooey, did it ever rain. That river there is normally about four feet deep on average and there is a pool you can swim in that the water calmly churns. So, sadly, the girls did not get to play in the river.
BUT -
The massive flux of water gave rise to something near the main falls, maybe it was even more impressive as it turned into our private shower and bathtub. To me, this was actually Love Joy Falls as the intimate setting would easily be a romantic getaway where children could be conceived.
The water was the main attraction, and as such, have to give it its own feature on my blog. The critters will be next, don't worry, and for some reason, I went bonzo taking pictures of mushrooms. You'll love that one too.
Back to the water.
There will be a return trip to this spot at some point. Preferably, when the river is more accepting of younger swimmers. With those smiles of wonder, love and joy? How could I deny that? I hope you all REMEMBER TO BE YOU! I always am, even in the turbulent currents.
Wanna find me on that other shit?
