In my life I have set myself a set of goals, which of course are personal in nature, however when we set ourselves a goal, to serve and live for Christ, it is a quite beautiful goal that demands effort and a lot of dedication.
I press on to the goal, to the prize of the supreme call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:14 King James Version (RVR1960)
When we are held by Christ we have the great advantage that the Lord enables us and gives us the necessary talents to serve Him. These special gifts from the Lord help us define our purpose for which we are to serve the Lord in his work. We do not serve the Lord just because we love him, but our love for him is expressed through the fidelity with which we make good use of these talents.
My goal of serving Christ is guided by what I have first received from Him, which is His love. This love is above any sacrifice or effort that I can make to serve you.
Paul said: I continue to the goal, that is, I follow Christ despite the heavy persecutions and dangers of death that have come upon him. The goal is our main source of inspiration, and this is what Christ represents for every Christian, inspiration.
Let us not abandon the goal, not even in circumstances that seem to have reached all earthly goals, we must continue with great strength and enthusiasm, until we reach the end of our goal, which is the sacred encounter with Christ in the clouds.
