It doesn't seem fair that a small percentage of the community, who are referred to as "whales", exert such a great influence over which submissions reach the front page and receive the most steem. I think 1 vote should equal 1 vote, no matter how long someone has been a member of the community.
Although there are a lot of very good submissions on the front page, I have found many submissions that have accumulated less than $0.25 that are better than some of the most popular ones that have earned more than $500. There must be a better, more fair system that can be used to determine which submissions are promoted and rewarded.
