I believe in democracy, but it needs to be structured around a process that is fair and protected from persuasion caused by ill-intentioned people and corrupt politicians. Democracy, the right to vote, should be seen by people as a power to change the country. A civic duty cannot be carried out carelessly and should never be neglected, but I do not believe that forcing people to do it is the best path. I think there should be a strong effort to raise awareness so that everyone understands the importance of this act, how difficult it was to achieve this right, and that every decision, even if it may not seem so, carries great weight.
Voting is one of the key components of a functioning democracy, enabling the populace to elect officials, influence government policy, and determine the course of their nations. However, the thought of mandating, even penalizing people with arrest and criminal charges, for not casting their vote remains a profoundly controversial topic.
Many citizens might be ill informed in regards to the current affairs or have significant moral or religious reservations in respects to which candidates appear to be available. Those whom have chosen not to vote through some conscience surely have nothing other than the belief that they have performed a service for country or other worthy causes. The concept to legally force citizens to commit these actions is clearly a gross contradiction in terms of democratic freedoms.
My personal opinion is that if voting has to be transparent then you should do all these things under surveillance and all this should be live and can be seen so that in the future you do not even need to go anywhere, you can vote from your mobile phone itself, there will be a lot of process for this also. I think blockchain will be much better in terms of transparency and may be done in the future through a voting block change.
This will be open to everyone and you can see how many votes are being cast where and this will make things easier and it will be much easier to calculate things. Well, wherever voting takes place, people vote impartially but even now there are many places where people are forced to vote, you can say that they are forced to vote whether they want to vote for a particular party or not. Yes, it should be an independent choice but it is not like that everywhere. See, if you live in a city, you might be treated differently there but in many ruler areas even now a lot of things go on which are not exposed to everyone. Many people do not even go to vote, due to which a lot of government money is also spent.
We all are living in a reputed country and as a citizen we all have power to elect our leader. We all know we need to do election to select one leader. Every person have different choice for leader. When election are near every leader are making many fake promises to confirm their seat by the people. But there are also many people who never vote even after the citizen of country. Government is saying to every person to make vote because every seat is important to elect the leader. But what if does it make compulsory for every person to vote.
