This issue of phone addiction is everywhere, I am struggling with my siblings over the same thing. What annoys me the most is the fact that they are not even using it for anything profitable but to watch tiktok videos and reels on Facebook. What a waste of time and resources.
Well, I understand the direction you are coming from when you said "addiction isn't a choice" due to the fact that it happens without our notice but I have a different opinion on this.
I believe that since it's something we initiate ourselves and keep coming to it until we can't help ourselves, it's actually a choice.
Had it been we wake up and find ourselves in something we never dreamt of or engaged in, I would have said it isn't a choice but addiction is always self invented
