One Anniversary I Always Look Out For

Any time I hear the word anniversary the first thing that often pops up in my mind is the wedding anniversary, it's one of the special events in the lives of so many people. And I think It's something worth celebrating, especially in this day that marriages don't last long. I remember a day I visited my sister and it was their 10th wedding anniversary.
They obviously didn't prepare for it financially but the love I saw in their home that day almost made me wish to get married soon but thank God I overcame it.
As a young and single man, one of the most important days of my life is my birthday, every March 29th feels like heaven on earth for me. You may probably think I esteem it highly because of the goodies I get from people on that day, but far from that.
On some of my birthdays, I don't even get text messages from people, or talk more about gifts, in fact, the last birthday I got a gift from anyone was in 2019 after that, nothing came again. So it's not about gifts, it's not even about going out and treating myself nice even though it's supposed to be part of it, hehe.
It is popularly Quoted that "the end of a thing is better than its beginning", that is very true because the end is what determines whether we are victorious or not, nevertheless without a beginning, there would never be an end.
There were times in my life when I was not taking seriously my birthdays, I mean I obviously didn't see their worth, okay I was born on this day and so what? I thought, But as time went on, I realized that if not for that day, I wouldn't have existed. If that day had not come, or if it was taken out of the calendar, Emreal wouldn't have been part of those in the world today.
It's a day, I came forth, it was the Genesis of all that I am today. Ever since I came into that knowledge, I started celebrating my birthdays, not that I throw up a party or something, no, sometimes, I just take an off from work, reflect on my life, make possible amendments, and spend quality time appreciating my maker for the gift of life, then go out and treat myself nice if I have what it takes.
My birthday means so much to me not for anything but for the love I received from my family, especially my mother, I can't remember any of my birthdays that she didn't say a word of prayer and make positive declarations on my life, after which she sings birthday songs for me, that's the fun part though.
For most of you, it might be a normal thing, but I didn't grow up in that kind of family where you get your parent's love, my elder sister was the one that took care of me till I grew up, Mom was always out there working effortlessly to ensure there is always food on the table.
I don't know the last time, I heard an I love you from Mom, I know she does but you know sometimes we want to hear people say it, but all hope is not lost, on my birthdays, I get to see my siblings and Mom display that love they have for me and it's just more than enough for me. It makes me want to always experience that very day.
How Do I Plan To Celebrate It This Year?
This year, I am planning to do something special for myself, I am not going to throw a party or something, I will take some time off for myself of course, I need to be alone, reflect on my life, and appreciate God for life. That's going to be the first thing I would do, then get some gifts for my mother, LoL.
It your birthday, why get a gift for your mother? you may ask. Well, she is the channel for which I was brought into this world, I wouldn't be here if not for her and the sacrifice she has made in my life, I want to do something that would make her always look forward to my birthdays.
After that, I'll go to this new eatery opened in my place, get some goodies, and bring them home to enjoy with my family and anyone who comes around while the feast is still on LoL.
