At first I thought it was a sea cucumber, but it wasn’t from the sea. According to my research, it’s a leather leaf slug. I spotted it on the road, perfectly camouflaged on a rock. If you’re not careful, you’ll miss it.
Turns out it’s an insect that feeds on garden plants, vegetables, and crops. It can be a threat to leafy greens in our yards. But I get it — it’s just a creature trying to survive and find food. So I snapped a photo and left it alone on the stone.
