This is quite surprising for most Filipinos since we thought that these fruits can only be grown in cold places. Yet, you can see hectares of these grown in La Union.

What's more surprising is that it has been grown all throughout the province since 1972. Mr. Avelino Lomboy was the one who started it all. It was once his hobby but when he started getting profit from it, he quit his piggery business and focused in growing grapes.

Here is a picture of my office mates and I walking through the rice fields on our way to the grape farm.

Aside from surfing, which the province is also really known for you may want to try grape picking. For only 350 pesos you can already have 1 kilo of grapes. You can also make use of the vineyards for an instagramable shot.

Looks like everyone does not need to go far for Grape picking. :))
