Nkechi lived in the forest for about 3 days before finding her way-out of the forest to a village called Nkita. She was lying on Mr. Eze’s farm. Mr. Eze was a very wealthy farmer who had various plantations. He met Nkechi lying like a lifeless animal. He was scared thinking she was died, he shouted for help but no one was passing through that time, he tried to carry her to the clinic but his strength did not allow him because he was already old then he thought of carrying her in his wheelbarrow to their village clinic as he was carrying her, fortunately, he saw some hefty guys moving around, they helped him to carry her to the clinic.
The next day, Mr. Eze brought his wife to visit Nkechi. Nkechi had already awoken after being conscious of about 5 hours in the clinic. Mr. Eze paid all the necessary bills and took her home.
At home, Nkechi started crying and became scared. “How did I get here” “who is this man” “maybe he is the good Samaritan or a God send” all sorts of thoughts starting flowing through her brain. Mr. Eze assured her safety. He explained how she was lying on his farm and how he rescued her. “My name is Nkechi and am an orphan” she said as he burst into tears. They had compassion on her and told her that she shouldn’t worry. Mrs. Eze gave her food, she ate to her fill and she directed Nkechi to a room where she would stay. Nkechi felt like chatting with someone but there was no one to do that with. Mr. and Mrs. Eze had married 20 years ago without getting pregnant let alone a child that Nkechi will be able to chat with. No choice, she slept off.
In the night, Mrs. Eze was worried and could not sleep, she started thinking about Nkechi then she decided to wake her husband up. “My husband, sit up” she parted him at his back.
“Why are you not sleeping my wife?”
“My husband, I have something important to tell you”
“Oh my God, why can’t you postpone this to day break because today had been a stressful day for me and I need some rest”
“No, I have to tell you now”
Mr. Eze sits up
“Next month will be the 20th year since we married without having a single child” Mrs. Eze said
“Yes, I remember” he said as he nodded his head in approval
“I think God has answered our prayer” she continued
“How, are you pregnant?” he asked
“No, but I think Nkechi’s coming is the answer to our prayer, let’s allow her to stay with us and we will make her our child”
“hmmmmm…. You mean we should abduct her”
“Yes my dear”
“Okay, I will need to see the elders before taking such step"
“Oh! Thank you my husband” she said as she hugged him
“Is that all” he asked
“Yes my dear” she answered as they both laid on their bed to sleep
