Last year I was in a big mess, I was literally battling with depression, worries, so much that I lost a lot of weight, I looked pale from sleepless night, rarely eat, I was just walking around looking for a bit of a fresh air, some sort of a miracle, I don't know how it happened but last year taught me so much deep lessons that I'll never forget in a hurry, ever heard the word, from fry pan to fire?...
That was my worst case scenario, ever since I got out of the hospital after an armed robbery attack on my way to work that severely damaged my left wrist, I lost my job after that, tried several other options to no avail, I was broke lonely, desperate and vulnerable at the time anything looked like a perfect option for me, from trying to fix things and regain my stand I never knew I was sinking deep into more and more debt burden, the more I try to get out the more I become stuck trying.
But then one day I was narrating my ill-fated experience with a friend of mine, when he drew my attention to the fact that I've been focusing more on the problems than the blessings, why won't I, I'm only trying to find away out of these issues I'm in, he said you've been trying to fix it all along have you been able to?...that's when I realise the truth in his word, cause no matter what I tried it hasn't been working
While going home that evening these scriptures popped up in my head
Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
"So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field,
how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
"Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 6:27-34
After I read all that I pounder on it a bit more and I automatically began to reflect on the blessings of God in my life, I was shocked all of a sudden I began to feel proud of myself who I am what I've achieved so far all the worries and issues I had left me instantly it was like a miracle, you recall these song?
count your blessings name them one by one!
Count your blessings see what God has Done!!
Count your blessings name them one by one and it will surprise you what the lord had done!!!
It began to unfold to me what God has really actually blessed me with so all these set backs were just temporary, I began uttering words of conviction, positive declaration soon after my faith was strong again, I kept saying to myself
This is just a phase, it will pass soon so I'll pass through it knowing it won't last forever and I will smile again,
It actually reminds me of Jesus's life on earth, yes he was God's beloved son but he was subjected to all manner of reproach and scorn by the same people he came to save, that can be very ridiculous but then he held on to the motive and his purpose on earth knowing fully well that when this is all over he will return to the father of which spoke to the father to restore his former glory he had before the world began John 17:5
I Learn This From Jesus
Even though right now it doesn't look like it but I believe God's word to the end, cause he says in proverbs 23:18 that surely there is an end and my expectation will never be cut off, I have completely overide worries in my life, there are issues but in Isaiah 1:18a God said Come let "US" reason together, so I simply go to God in prayer about it, I don't dwell on the problems anymore I don't try to so my part and God's part, I believe God has blessed me so much to go through any circumstances and come out victorious, he told me in luke 1:37 For "WITH" God Nothing is impossible emphasis on "with" meaning it's a partnership deal, why not partner with God over that problem and see it become possible. Learn to count Your Blessings not Your Problems.
