Growing up wasn't easy as a child because a day would come when the idea of depending on parents would stop and that however will need the mentality of struggling and hustling on your own to start a living without still depending on your parents.
I came from a poor background and I would say things wasn't easy for me while growing up but because we had no choice to survive we engage on things or job that would provide food for us no matter how little the pay was, we are always contented with it.
However during my hustle and struggle, I had the opportunity to save up in other to enroll myself to the higher institution where I studied computer engineering and that was my first time I left home without staying with my parents in the year 2013.
Though things wasn't easy for me in school but I had no choice than to engage in some little work to pay for my bills without depending on my parents. During my days in school I do squat with a friend but he accepted me as a brother without me paying a dime while staying there and this kindness was very helpful to me to save up and pay other expenses I needed to pay while in school.
I knew my parents didn't have much to spend on me and I also know the background am coming from which I needed to look for means in settling my bills needed to pay in school and other expenses as well. Like I said my friend have been supportive so I really did not feel the much expense to pay while staying with him because he also takes care of the food stuffs we need most times.
Despite the kindness my friend render I still don't want to depend on him much because human being can disappoint but still yet he doesn't complain. I was opportuned to work in a bar and during my stay there I was able to save up to rent an apartment on my own which am very grateful to achieve that without the help of anyone.
Since then I have been living alone and I travel once in every month to see my mum just to check up on her to make sure she's fine since am not staying with them anymore.
The job didn't affect my education because I was able to do both the work and the job to survive and today am excited that am a graduate despite the challenges faced though it wasn't easy but my aim was accomplished.
