The snow continued to fall as I left my work and began walking home. It was normally nice to live within five blocks of work, but not so much today. Twenty inches of snow had fallen in the last five hours, and almost no one had started to clear their sidewalks.
I had thought of calling my wife to come pick me up, but the roads were worse. It was best if I just walk. The worst part of it is that I had worn my nicest loafers today. I knew it was cold and light snow flurries were predicted, but we had guests coming to the office today and I wanted to look my best. Little did I know then that I would be ruining them on the way home in two foot snow banks.
At last, I see our Christmas tree shining through the window. Just the sight of home warms me up. It is good to be home, and I know the kids will be excited to see me! And tomorrow......we'll build a snow Colossus.
