The storm had been sleeping
many years
a lengthy hibernation
Now she was awake
and ready to love
But this love was not easy
No, to express
the depths of power
she would cry
yell
rave
until
the swimming, drowning burden
of loving
would be fully expelled
Then
the storm evolved
into a rainbow
jumping, flying
high across the earth
telling all awed witnesses:
love.
I wrote the first draft of this poem at the EcoSex celebration on Orcas Island on June 22, 2018. You can read more about my experiences at that inspirational gathering in my first post: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@em-blem/enlightening-poetry-here-goes
