Rain fell softly on the other side of the window as my face lay against the pillow.

"Just a moment," I promised. "I'll rest for just a moment."

Sweet air turned to rainforest as scents blown from outside blended with my own thoughts. Birds flapped past on wings soaked and heavy, flashing a hint of gold from beneath their white wings.

"Just one more moment."

The sun broke the clouds on its journey to the west, sending its rays at just the right angle to warm my face. I stretched my legs out and they felt smooth against the sheets. It was all so very nice in this moment.

"Maybe just a bit longer."

My eyes closed and I faded into a dream.
