It was an overcast, dull day today with a bit of drizzle in the air. Dark clouds were looming. I took a chance to have a circular walk around the village nature reserve.
I knew it would probably wait until there's no place to shelter before it started to rain.
There's a railway line right next to the nature reserve. There's usually a train every 15 minutes but it was quite busy this afternoon.
They were doing some maintenance work on the railway line, so train drivers blew their horn everytime they went past, making me jump. As kids, we used to wave to train drivers. We thought it was great if they waved back. I think we were the original railway children.
There's a couple of kestrels that seem to have taken residency down here. This one was hunting for food. Unfortunately, I hadn't got my long lens with me.
There was also a couple of Canada geese on the water.
At least the snowdrops added a bit of brightness to the day. The spring flowers are all coming out but it's forecast a bit of snow next week. I just managed to get back to the car before it started to drizzle.
