The visiting waxwings are still in our area. There was a flock of them at a local cafe next to the Monsal Trail in Derbyshire, UK. It's not often you see them, but they've been sighted for the last couple of months.
Some people have reported seeing about 200 plus in the same area, all feeding off hawthorn or rowan berries. We've not had this amount of waxwings visiting here for many years.
They seem fairly sociable as they don't seem to mind people taking photographs of them.
It won't be long before they've stripped the berries off the tree.
It was getting a bit overcast so we left them to it.
