We finally had some lovely blue skies, but it's still quite cold. It feels like winter weather is still hanging in there.
At a local nature reserve, there are some very pretty mandarin ducks.
This is my entry to the #reflectionhunters contest round 157.
They are very exotic looking compared to other birds. They are a bit like a patchwork quilt. They were introduced in the UK from the Far East.
The females aren't as vibrant looking but still nice nonetheless. They tend to feed by moving their bill around in the water. This one was tipping up in the water, head down, and bum up in the air.
