We decided to call in at the Tea Rooms in Edensor (pronounced Enza). The cafe is on the Chatsworth Estate owned by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.
I loved the way they had decorated the door. It was very welcoming.
There was a nice view of St Peter's Church where John F Kennedy's sister's grave is. JFK was the 35th president of the United States. Kathleen was married to Kennedy William Cavendish, the Marquess of Hartington. They had met during her trip to England. Source J F Kennedy actually visited her grave in 1963. It still seems strange that an American president has visited my little county of Derbyshire.
We sat outside as it was quite busy inside. We ordered two lattes but no food this time, which is a rarity.
In the courtyard where the cafe was situated, they had everything from a post box to a defibrillator in an old phone box. Perhaps they thought when you see the bill, you might need medical assistance!
It was a really nice cafe, set in lovely surroundings with plenty of tables inside and outside. There was a lot of choice as they sold hot and cold food, including a nice breakfast fry up and cakes. A food hygeine rate of 5/5 as well. The prices weren't too bad either! Definitely, a place to return to.
