A few days ago, my village took a little bit of a hit from Storm Babet. Although, compared to elsewhere, we got off lightly. My local town was flooded in several places, so I didn't venture out too far as a lot of roads were blocked.

Most of the footpaths around the park got submerged under the rain water that kept coming and coming. When it rains, there are always a few big puddles around the park, but nothing like this.

The wooden walkway around one of the ponds was also under water.

Thankfully, a few days later the water had subsided.

Our village bowling green was also waterlogged. I've sometimes seen them playing bowls in the rain, but the rain definitely stopped play this time.

Today, the clean up had begun. All the bowling mats that were previously floating away were literally hung out to dry.

On a brighter note, calm has been restored. A little robin came to visit. I left him/her with a few bits of food I'd taken for the ducks.

The squirrel was hiding its nuts! It amazes me how they find them again.

There is more rain forecast this week. Hopefully, it won't be as bad. In the meantime, at least the fungi and the ducks enjoyed the wet weather!
