For the next few weeks, I will be looking after my friend's precious cargo .... her pooch while she's on holiday.
I don't have any pets myself and even though I enjoy walking, it's much more enjoyable when you have a dog.
Our first venture into the forest didn't go as planned. I have an old sheet on the back seat of my car as I tend to take muddy dogs for walks. Somehow, the pooch got underneath it and this is what he looked like when we got to the forest. I thought he was doing his ghostbuster impersonation!
Anyway, after I'd uncovered him we went in search of fungi but unfortunately, we didn鈥檛 see many. It's difficult to takes photos as he likes to photobomb them.
He insists on chewing every bit of wood he finds. It's worse when he picks a small branch up and clatters you on the back of your legs.
Someone had built a bushcraft teepee so he had to go and investigate.
I'm feeling my age as I can't keep up with him. Fortunately, his recall is very good, especially when he thinks he will get a biscuit. We ended up doing a two hour walk, so it was a successful first day!
