After a chilly start, it was nice and sunny this afternoon, so I took a walk around the village.
There is a footpath that leads up to our medical centre, and it is especially lovely at the moment. The blossom on the trees has grown across the path and has formed an archway overhead.
As I walked around, I noticed how beautiful everyone’s gardens looked. The flowers are now fully out, adding lots of colour to the village. I especially noticed the purple aubrieta and the bright red tulips, which really stand out at this time of year. I wish flowers would grow this well in my own communal garden. It doesn’t matter what I sow, the buggers never come through.
I popped down to the village lido. It was quiet, and there wasn’t much bird life on the water today. I did see “Wingy,” the Canada goose with the disabled wing. He can’t fly, but he's happy enough on the lido. The villagers look out for him and make sure he is OK.
Even though, there wasn't a lot to see, it was still nice to get out for some fresh air. I’m glad to see Wingy is still doing well.
