I decided to go with the lighter toned wash...
Except that I didn't add enough water so it wasn't a wash so much as it was an opaque cover-up. Which is also fine. I managed to tone down the remaining bits of hard color, which was the main goal for today.
But does it look like a swirling galaxy?
Admittedly, no. It fails to resemble a galaxy- yet!
It's obviously missing stars, but those will be last. First, I'll need to wash over this excess color with some darker tones, to really make the color look more like the haze of light that I want it to look like. I'm not sure whether I want to use a translucent black, or maybe a translucent deep dark blue.

What I know for sure is that I can still hear yesterday's lesson loud and clear: Take a break.
More to come within the next few days.
