We spotted (haha) this Red-spotted longhorn beetle on the railing outside the dining room of our hotel high on a hillside in the tea-growing region of Sri Lanka. After a bit of an online search I learned that the Batocera rufomaculata is also known as a mango tree borer, mango stem-borer and tropical fig borer.
Whatever it is, it's rather pretty!
