Sometimes, when you need to speak to a large audience, whether it's a seminar or a meeting, you start to get lost. Hands are shaky, words are confused in the head, and you forget everything you want to say.
The good thing is that many, many years ago (even a few thousand years ago) very intelligent people came up with one interesting technique of memorization. This is called the "Memory Palace". You can learn about it in many sources, it is not anything new, and for someone it may be interesting.
One of these ways I will describe now. Those who are just learning to create palaces of memory, experts advise starting with this way.
Let's say you have an exam tomorrow in biology, and you need to learn twenty lessons.
For the beginning you need to imagine a structure, a house in which you will allocate twenty rooms, one room for one lesson. And then build associations for each room. For example, one room will be intended for a plant kingdom, another for animal kingdom and so on, depending on what you need to learn about the subject, lessons and speech.
In the room with the animal kingdom on the wall hangs a picture showing how the lion hunts a gazelle, which shows us that in the animal world there are predators and herbivores. On the shelf is a small pig statue, which is omnivorous. The floor in the room is very dirty, which was trampled by some nasty boy (parasite). And so on every lesson for the exam.
This technique works with all similar situations. Due to my work as a lawyer, I have to learn long speeches for a speech in court. Exactly this technique allows me to learn in a short time 10 pages of text with links to the norms of the law.
An interesting video on this topic can be found on the Internet, in which journalist Joshua For speaks. Simply ordering the thoughts in our head, life becomes easier. And some fears of the public speeches can be easily overcome.
