We awoke this morning to over 5” of snow and by the time the storm was done with us, we had 11.5” of the white stuff! Generally, I’d say not a big deal, however our county manages the road crews very poorly. They absolutely refuse to come this way for plowing until as much as 3-5 days after a major snow event occurs. I know there are a lot of roads that all need plowing, but we have seen them plow roads in the past that were already plowed and in great shape while the road I live on and surrounding roads were not being touched. It’s a bit of a sore point with all of us on my road. At the end of it are some elderly folks that if they were to need the local EMT’S or fire department, they have a difficult if not impossible road encounter. So frustrating!
I called in to my boss to let him know what was going on here and we decided to call off clinic hours today. With the new software being cloud based, I was able to get in touch with all but one household and reschedule them.

Down south at Phoenix’s house, they were having freezing rain! Poor Phoenix does not look too happy about it!

Here, the temperature has hovered all day right around 25 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s possible that there might be a little snow in the afternoon tomorrow, but then around 5 PM, the temperatures will rise and it will become rain………falling on all of that snow………..creating an ice skating rink the likes of which most have never seen before! I have and it’s not pretty either! So, on one hand, if I get out (presuming a plow truck has made it close by) then come evening at closing time, the roads up here will become an ice skating rink! It’s going to be ugly! I’m thinking staying home would be the best option, but then the guilt of not going to work sets in. It’s a vicious cycle for sure. So for now, I’m just going to enjoy the evening and let tomorrow take care of itself.
