A beautiful fall day! It was but a little on the warm side. It hit 79 degrees today. We called this when I was growing up, ‘Indian Summer’. Tomorrow is supposed to be cooler and then some days in the coming week, we’ll be lucky to hit 60 degrees for a high.

We slept in as apparently I needed it. Once up and showered, I headed up to my loft nook to work on and finish my last continuing education course for this year. Finished and passed with flying colors! Yippee!🤩

Jan had text me to let me know she’s under the weather and wouldn’t be hiking. She’s got a bug that’s moved into her chest and it sounds like it’s not treating her well. I’m hoping it’s short lived.

We headed out for a hike around 1:15. I wanted to do the Slumbering Bear trail as there are a lot of Vine Maples on that trail. I was hoping the color change would be in full swing! That first picture was taken from that trail out across the South Pass. Beautifully golden off in the distance. We’ve not seen such vibrant colors here since we moved here over 20 years ago! Apparently, it takes a drought and hot temperatures to get this in just the right degree of heat and lack of water. Here’s more eye candy for you.

The explosion of ‘shrooms has happened as I predicted. I took over 50 photos today with about 45+ being of ‘shrooms. I will have more in upcoming posts.

I saw this leaf as we were heading for home. This is from an elm or alder I think. We are used to huge Big leaf maples, but this is one of the biggest of this type I’ve seen. I asked @silvertop to hold it so you could gain size perspective.
