My workday today went pretty much the way I thought it would. My patients who were supposed to return to order glasses 👓 did and my two first timers showed as well. I had frames 👓to log; checks to reconcile; insurance to verify and a host of other miscellaneous tasks. My work is never done! 😅 Job security! 😁
Weather wise, it was another scorcher of a day! I am so thankful for air conditioning! 🧊 the heat is to continue through Sunday. Then depending on the weather fronts, it should begin to cool Monday. It will still be warm but not like now. Then Tuesday’s through the next weekend,it should be more temperate with maybe even some rain ☔️ in the forecast. One can only hope!
I’ve been playing around with a new app on the phone and have manipulated some of my pics.
Tomorrow is Friday, thank goodness, and I am already wishing for the end of my workday, lol!

It was another scorcher of a day today! 🥵🥵🥵☀️☀️☀️ Thankfully, I was working in air conditioning all day! This is one of those times I’m very glad I have an indoor job!
I have a patient who periodically will want to use a specific drill mounted frame, but change the lens shape to a shape based on an entirely different pair of glasses. Often, the shape is for a closed eye wire frame. So, in the process of relaying a bit of info to my coworker, she thought why not have me do something similar for her. She had been eyeing a specific semi-rimless frame, but the lens rested on her cheeks. So I got to calculating some and after asking some questions, re-designed the bottom curve to be less dippy and shortened the ‘B’ measurement (top of frame to bottom) and called my lab. They will put a demo lens with the shape I’ve designed and the shorter B measurement and then send it back to see if my coworker is okay with the overall style and shape. If it passes what she wants, we’ll then measure for the progressive. It adds a bit of fun to this by rearranging the shape and dimensions.
Work was hectic and super busy today! I have no doc tomorrow but I am expecting to be as busy as if I did. I’ve got multiple folks coming with multiple insurances to order glasses, a patient with multiple pairs to order, two first time contact lens trainings plus insurance verifications and reminder calls to do! I will be BUSY!!
