First, I’d like to express my sincere thanks to all the men and women who have served our country through the military-You are appreciated! Happy Veterans Day!
I worked today even though for me it’s more than Veterans Day. Can you guess?
Here’s a clue:
Suffice it to say, I’ve stopped counting years! I have come up with several creative ways to express my age. I am currently adding the years together! That makes me all of 7 years old-so watch out! ‘Cause’Lil Bethie has been let loose!
All kidding aside, my wonderful husband 
Once I got home, we headed out to a local burger place called Grant’s Burgers in Lynden. This was the first time we’ve eaten takeout food since before Covid descended on us all. I had never had a Grant’s burger although many locals rave about how good they are. They weren’t kidding! Very tasty and very filling! 😋
It’s been a birthday with surprises, for I wasn’t really expecting anything other than the burger trip we’d planned. Here is a pic of some of the interesting sayings/jokes on the walls. The Big Boy icon at the top as far as I know, really originates from an midwestern area of the US known from my hometown of Cincinnati, as Frisch’s Big Boy restaurant. They had the Big Boy burger, the Brawny Lad and much more. A bit of nostalgia for us in an unexpected place!
So, I am sufficiently stuffed with French fries, a burger, and cake (no fat OR calories here) and set for the evening.
Needless to say, a nighttime hike was out; besides, we would have needed a boat to do it as it’s pouring-again! 🙃☔️☔️☔️
