I found my first fallen Big Leaf Maple leaf today! I’ve seen bigger ones, but so far, this is this year’s first one. Almost big enough to make clothing out of it.
I had limited time today for our hike, so when we met Jan, I told her we were hiking for an hour and 15 minutes and then we’d have to turn around and head home. We made it up to Towhee Ridge before we turned around.

Since it’s October, it was tree decorating time! We chose the smaller of the two we usually adorn for whatever the current season is. 
I think it needs a few other things, so off to Dollar Tree maybe tomorrow.
Almost at the end of the trail in the gravel drive just before the paved road begins, I captured a red dragon fly. I’ve not seen a red one before.
Things are getting back to normal with my back which I’m grateful for. We’re planning a hiking excursion on Monday and I need to be able to backpack the lambs. It wouldn’t be any fun without them along!
