Hello friends from Holozing, for a while I have been wanting to create a 3D model of one of the creatures since I joined the community. I spent days thinking about which one to make, since I'm not very experienced in this area. I did my best, of course, with the help of a friend who has much more experience in the world of 3D design (
Initially, I took a reference from an image of a whale to see how it would turn out, but as I progressed, I realized it looked more like a tadpole than what I wanted to achieve. That's when I had to come up with a plan B, I wrote to Victor and asked him to help me with something basic while I continued working. I gave him the reference and after a few days he sent me a whale, which was very helpful.
During the process, I had to shape the fins to give it the final form, and I also noticed that the model was too round compared to Waller which was flatter. Step by step, I searched for the ideal size until I reached the one I am showing you now, which has a great resemblance. Although I didn't want to make a model that was 100% faithful to the original because I still lack experience, I got pretty close. I wanted more of a low-poly chibi style.
As for painting, well... that's another story. Those who know about the 3D world know that UV mapping can be a headache, so I opted for something more relaxed and just painted by polygons, which could be tedious, but... it's better than cutting the model (believe me, it's not something fun to do and anyone who says they enjoy it is lying hahaha).
As you can see on the cover, it was a long process over several days to achieve a decent 3D model of Waller, and I may continue to modify it or take on the task of creating another creature.

Hola amigos de Holozing, desde hace rato que entre a la comunidad ten铆as ganas de hacer un modelo 3D de alguna de las creaturas. Estuve dias pensando en cu谩l hacer, ya que tampoco soy muy experto en el 谩rea. Hice lo mejor posible, claro, con ayuda de un amigo que el s铆 tiene mucho m谩s tiempo en el mundo del dise帽o 3D (
En primera instancia tom茅 la referencia de una imagen de una ballena y de waller, para ver que tal me sal铆a, pero a medida que fui avanzando, me di cuenta de que parec铆a un renacuajo en vez de lo que quer铆a lograr. Fue donde toco un plan B, le escrib铆 a V铆ctor y le dije que me ayudara con algo b谩sico y la yo continuaba, le di la referencia y a los dias me paso una ballena, cosa que me sirvi贸 de mucho.
En el proceso, toco picar algunas partes, para darle la forma final, aparte me di cuenta de que el modelo era muy redondo y fij谩ndome de Waller era m谩s plano. Paso a paso le fui buscando un tama帽o ideal, hasta el que les muestro ahora, que tiene gran similitud. Aunque no quer铆a hacer un modelo 100% fiel al original, porque a煤n me falta experiencia, le llegue bastante cerca. Yo quer铆a m谩s un estilo lowPoly chibi.
脡l pintando, pues... es otra historia, los que saben del mundo 3D saben que hacer las UV son un dolor de cabeza, as铆 que opte pon algo m谩s relax y solo pintar por pol铆gonos, que pude ser tedioso, pero... es mejor que cortar el modelo (cr茅anme, no es algo que divierta hacer y que diga que le divierte, le est谩 mintiendo ajajajaja).
Ya como ven en la portada, fue un largo trabajo en varios dias, para lograr un modelo 3D de Waller decente, posiblemente lo siga modificando o me d茅 la tarea de hacer otra de las criaturas.
