I had already made a post about a larger specimen of this plant.

Ya había hecho una publicación sobre un ejemplar más grande de esta planta.

When I walked near a neighboring house, I would pick up its yellow fruits from the ground and photograph it.

Cuando caminaba cerca de una casa vecina recogía sus frutos amarillos del suelo y la fotografiaba.

I tried them out of curiosity. Then I planted the seed, which germinated and grew into a new plant.

Los probé por curiosidad. Después sembré la semilla que germinó dando lugar a una nueva planta.

It took several years to bloom and I was able to observe the insects that arrived.

Tardó varios años en florecer y pude observar los insectos que llegaban.

I noticed a few days ago that the first fruits were appearing.

Hace días noté que estaban apareciendo los primeros frutos.

Its scientific name is Jatropha multifida and it belongs to the family of Euphorbiaceae.

Su nombre científico es Jathropha multifida y pertenece a la familia de las Euphorbiaciae.

Some plants in this family are also called "physical nuts." They are toxic to varying degrees, and almost all contain latex in their sap. Their fruit contains an oil from which biodiesel can be obtained.

Algunas plantas de esta familia tambien son llamadas "Nueces físicas". Son tóxicas en mayor o menor grado y casi todas tienen latex en su savia. Su fruto contiene un aceite de donde se puede obtener biodiesel.
