Sharon chose to believe that the overwatering of the company's Christmas cactus was the result of an overabundance of Christmas cheer rather than an intentional malicious act. It wasn't the most jovial office but this year, they'd all pulled together like a family almost. There were no delinquent Secret Santas, no missing lunches in the office fridge and for the first time in a decade, the swear jar had less than $8000 in it before they closed for the holidays.

With a little TLC, that cactus might just live to brighten up another holiday season at work. Miracles could happen.

First off, MERRY CHRISTMAS! I hope you guys have a wonderful holiday and really enjoy what's left of the day.

Today instead of getting two random words, I selected 'Christmas' as the theme for my 100-word story. I don't generally get into the holiday spirit but I like to think the cactus in the story lived to see 2022 and maybe even sprouted a flower.

Peace ☮️.
