How long will you run?
I hear you laugh
As I advance
I feel the years
In ways
That seem
Extreme
I feel them crunch
In my bad knee
But I'll still run
As long as you're
Having fun
And slow down
Discreetly
When it's your turn
To chase me
I started thinking about this poem as I was running after my 3-year-old today. Children may have short legs but they are reaaaalllly fast at that age! Luckily my knee isn't that bad (crunchiness notwithstanding).
Interestingly enough, after almost ten years of copywriting, today while writing up this poem I finally learned that discrete and discreet are different words. On one hand I feel like I should have known this already (did I know this before and somehow forget??) and on the other I'm glad I know now. I wonder what other words I've been wrong about this whole time...🤔
Peace ☮️.
