Under normal circumstances, being denied access to all electronics for a month would already be extreme, unthinkable even. Things hadn't been normal for a while. Those screens were her school, her mall, her window to a much less stressful world than the one that waited outside the closed doors. A month without them would last a thousand eternities, especially without access to any friends to share her despair with.
Those conversations seemed innocent, initially. She was sure he was 15, at first. Somehow, gradually, it all went to hell.
"I said I was SORRY!" She cried.
"So am I, honey."
In a world where everyone is online more than they used to be, I hope that parents are doing what they can to help their kids understand the dangers that come with that (there's good and bad on the internet, like everywhere). Blocking access alone won't work, the next generation is usually better with technology than the one that came before. They need to know what they're trying to avoid online and that's in addition to the dangers they might encounter face-to-face.
Almost forgot the random words, they were...
... "electronics" and "share".
Peace ☮️.
