Hear me out
I’m pulling out
My best words
Hoping maybe one or two
Will get through to you
I’m dusting off the diagrams
Wishing I could help you understand
If I keep talking
Maybe
Eventually
I might get you
To
Hear me out
I know it's hard
I know you're tired
It's getting worse
You feel worn out
You feel the worst things
You feel nothing
But there's more
Out there
Please
Hear me out

“Jumper” by Third Eye Blind was a pretty big hit in the 90’s. It’s been covered many, many times and even made its way into movies and shows made long after its release. It’s a good song. You can almost forget how hopeless it can feel to be the person trying to coax that jumper down or, worse yet, the person who actually wants to jump. This poem came from a similar place and not knowing what to say or how to say it in the moment.

Peace ☮️.
