What is Utopian?
Utopian.io is a platform based on Steem and listed in the Steem Ecosystem, that rewards contributions to Open Source projects. A project is Open Source when its codebase is publicly available. Usually codebases of Open Source projects are hosted in Github.com. Steem itself is an Open Source project: https://github.com/steemit/steem.
Utopian gives contributors the opportunity to write a Steemit post and to link the post to an existing Open Source project on Github. In Utopian these are called Contributor Reports.

Can I Contribute if I Am Not a Developer?
Sure you can. That's where Utopian becomes very powerful. On platforms like Github you can mainly contribute to Open Source projects if you know how to code or if you are geeky enough to play with the documentation, report bugs etc. Utopian instead allows any kind of contribution to Open Source projects as long as they are useful for the projects to grow.
Contributions can be anything, from code development, to graphic design, social engagement and ideas.
The only requirement in Utopian is that contributions must be verifiable and in case you are contributing with an idea, it must be well structured and explained in great details.
