Hello, Splinter Fanatics!

Another season of Splinterlands has come to an end, and this time the challenge was even greater! Despite the changes to the matchmaking system and the difficulties I faced qualifying for Survival Mode, I managed to finish in the Top 10 in Survival Mode. By combining the Glints earned in Modern and Survival battles, I was able to set a new personal record, reaching approximately 600,000 Glints! An insane result that allowed me to significantly strengthen my Reward card collection!

Unlike the previous season, this one was much more challenging. The matchmaking system changed to the Bracket format, bringing a new dynamic to the competition. In addition, Survival Mode also underwent changes and now features a cooldown system, which made it much harder for me to compete, especially in Bracket VI.

When cards are defeated, they take several days to become available for battles again, depending on their rarity and type. With a limit of just 100 battles, I barely managed to qualify. I had to make the most of every opportunity to keep competing and secure a good position in the rankings.

Despite these difficulties, I managed to finish in the Top 10 and receive 175,000 Glints as a reward. On top of that, I received approximately 88,000 Glints from the shared pool distributed among qualified players. Adding these rewards to the 287,000 Glints accumulated through battles, I ended the season with a total approaching 600,000 Glints!

For me, this was an impressive achievement. Earning such a huge amount of Glints through gameplay is incredibly rewarding, especially since I can now use these resources to further strengthen my collection.

This time, I focused on continuing to upgrade my Reward cards across different rarities. Although I managed to upgrade only one Epic card from Level 4 to Level 5, this upgrade was particularly meaningful: all my Epic Reward cards are now at Level 5!

image.png

image.png

Another important milestone was reached with my Common cards. I managed to upgrade my first two Common cards to Level 9 and bring two more cards to Level 8. These are significant improvements, especially because Common cards require a large number of copies to reach their highest levels.

image.png

image.png

And I didn't stop there! I also managed to upgrade my first Legendary Reward card to Level 2. It might seem like a small step compared to the other rarities, but anyone who plays Splinterlands knows that upgrading Legendary cards requires considerable dedication and resources.

image.png

The most interesting part of all this is seeing how the resources accumulated over several seasons can transform a collection. Instead of relying exclusively on buying cards, I can use the rewards earned through battles to upgrade my monsters and expand my strategic options.

But is it financially worth it?

However, not everything is sunshine and rainbows! I rarely stop to analyze the financial side of the game, but this season made me take a closer look.

Since SPS rewards are no longer earned in every battle and are instead distributed at the end of the season, I decided to check how much I actually received. I earned only around 1,300 SPS, which was not much different from what I used to earn previously.

However, I also realized that I am essentially paying to play. At the current exchange rate, the SPS rewards I received are worth approximately $5, while I spent around 300 HIVE, equivalent to about $15.

image.png

Based on these numbers, the financial equation simply doesn't add up. I spent approximately $15 and received only about $5 in SPS rewards, leaving me with an estimated negative balance of $10 for the season.

Of course, I still need to conduct a more detailed analysis, taking other factors into account. Nevertheless, it is worth considering how much I am spending to play and whether the rewards justify these expenses.

On the bright side, my collection is becoming more powerful with every season! I am happy with the progress I've made, and I see the upgraded cards as a long-term benefit that goes beyond the SPS rewards alone.

For now, I'll keep playing, test my newly upgraded cards, and prepare my collection for the challenges ahead. At the same time, I want to take a closer look at my expenses and rewards to figure out how to make the most of my time in Splinterlands.

What about you, Splinter Fanatics? How was your season? Did you manage to accumulate lots of Glints and upgrade your Reward cards? And do you think playing Splinterlands is still worth it financially?
