Today, April 21st, is the holiday of Tiradentes in Brazil. Joaquim Jos茅 da Silva Xavier came from a humble family and throughout his life exercised several professions, among them that of dentist, hence the name "Tooth Extractor".
Tirandentes was the leader of a movement called Inconfid锚ncia Mineira, which lasted from 1789 to 1792. This movement was inspired in the illuminist ideals disseminated in Europe and that some Brazilians had contact with.
To make a long story short, this movement sought to revindicate the high taxes charged to Brazilians by the Portuguese court. At the time, Brazil was living in the monarchial era, where the Portuguese royal family ruled the country.
On April 21, 1792, Tiradentes was the only person sentenced to death by the Portuguese Crown, for having revolted against the collection of taxes called "The Fifth" or 20% of all gold produced in Brazil.
And then with the proclamation of the Republic, where Brazil stopped being a monarchy and became independent from Portugal. Brazilian figures were sought to celebrate this moment and Tirandentes was chosen as Heroi and Martyr.
Brazil is a country that has a high tax burden on consumption and the vast majority of the population is unaware of this fact. An example of this is shown in the image below, a consumer who will fill his car with $ 100 or $20 of gasoline pays about 42.45% tax on this product is absurd to pay almost half only taxes to the government. 馃槺
If Tiradentes had been alive today, he would be mourning in his tomb and seeing that his struggle was in vain. And the tendency is that taxes in Brazil and in the world will continue to rise to finance their inefficient and corrupt governments.

Hoje dia, 21 de abril, 茅 celebrado o feriado de Tiradentes no Brasil. Joaquim Jos茅 da Silva Xavier era de fam铆lia humilde e ao longo de sua vida exerceu v谩rias profiss玫es, dentre elas a de dentista, por isso o nome "Tira Dentes".
Tirandentes foi o lider de um movimento chamado de Inconfid锚ncia Mineira, que se estendeu de 1789 a 1792. Este movimento foi inspirado nos ideais iluministas divulgados na Europa e que algumas brasileiros tiveram contato.
Resumindo a hist贸ria, esse movimento buscava revindicar os altos impostos cobrados aos brasileiros pela corte portuguesa. Na 茅poca o Brasil viva a era da mornaquia, onde a famila real portuguesa dominava o pa铆s.
No dia 21 de abril de 1792, Tirandentes foi o 煤nico condenado a morte pela Coroa Portuguesa, pelo movito que de ter se revoltado contra a cobran莽a de impostos, que era chamado de "O Quinto" ou 20% de todo ouro produzido no Brasil.
E ent茫o com a proclama莽茫o da Republica, onde o Brasil deixou de ser monarquia e se tornou independente de Portugal. Foram buscados figuras brasileiras para celebrar este momento e Tirandentes foi escolhido como Heroi e M谩rtir.
O Brasil 茅 uma pa铆s que tem uma alta tribu莽茫o sobre o consumo e a grande maioria da popula莽茫o n茫o tem no莽茫o deste fato. Um exemplo disto 茅 mostrado na imagem abaixo, um consumidor que vai abastecer seu carro com R$ 100 ou $20 de gasolina paga cerca de 42.45% de imposto sobre este produto 茅 um absurdo pagar quase metade somente de impostos ao governo. 馃槺
Caso Tiradentes estivesse vivo hoje estaria se remechendo em seu tumulo e vendo que sua luta foi em v茫o. E a tend锚ncia 茅 que os impostos no Brasil e no mundo continuem a subir para financiar seus governo ineficientes e corruptos.

Eu n茫o acho errado o pagamento de impostos, pois os impostos s茫o necess谩rios para pagamento de diversos servi莽os b谩sicos dos cidad玫es como educa莽茫o, sa煤de e seguran莽a. Por茅m, sou contra a alta carga tibut谩ria para alimentar um sistema falido e corrupto.
